On Saturday, October 29th Terrace Park held The Haunted Halloween Family Fundraiser to benefit the Harden Family. Graham has long terrorized friends and neighbors as a chainsaw wielding ghoul. When Sally and Steve Vianello heard about Graham’s diagnosis and the need for fundraising, they knew that a Halloween Haunt would be the perfect fundraising vehicle. They enlisted the help of many neighbors and Halloween lovers to create a fun fundraising night. The Terrace Park Log Cabin grounds were transformed into a Halloween wonderland. Baked goods, GForce hats and shirts, pre-pay parties, a hay maze, hay rides and best of all the scariest haunted house this area has seen in years. Many families sponsored rooms in the haunted house – one scarier than the next. The line was long and at one point a near riot broke out because the haunters needed a bathroom break.
Another highlight of the evening was the resurrection of the pre-pay parties. These are parties hosted by several families and included themes like a Crawfish Boil down on the river, Terrace Park’s first Annual Dinner En Blanc, a 70s party, a float down the river, ping pong contest and more! “Guests” pay the entrance fee to sign up for the party. Host families absorb the party costs, so these are a great way raise money. Most sold out in the first hour they were offered and several doubled their size to keep up with demand.
Again, thank you to all of the amazing community members who came out to support the Harden family at the Haunted Halloween Family Fundraiser. Also, thank you to so many volunteers who helped in large and small ways to make this happen! The organizers raised close to $51,000 that went directly to the Harden Family Fund to help with their many upcoming needs. The HHFF Crew and party planners hope that this will become an annual event!
